RED BANK: WATER SERVICE AFFECTED

After spending much of a cold day fixing a sewer issue on Broad Street, a crew from Red Bank’s big-plumbing-job contractor, Mark Woszcak Mechanical, was called to the scene of a water line break at South Street and Madison Avenue at about 6 p.m. Friday.

A messy road project in Red Bank will cost more and take longer to complete than originally anticipated, officials said last week.

Also, the borough plans to seek $250,000 in Monmouth County funding to cover half the cost of a series of improvements to borough parks.

RED BANK: WATER LINE BREAKS ON EAST SIDE

Red Bank’s borough government issued a “boil water” alert following a supply line break on the East Side Monday morning.

Public works director Gary Watson tells redbankgreen that a six-inch line, not a 10-inch main, ruptured at Harding Road and Spring Street at about 6 a.m. Water service was shut to two homes on Spring Street and the Manor Drive condominium complex while a contractor makes repairs, expected to be completed by about 3 p.m., he said.

A Red Bank public works crew was on the scene of a water main break at Central Avenue and Drs. James Parker Boulevard late Thursday afternoon.

A crew supervisor said the break, which occurred at about 2:20p, was caused by a paving contractor laying asphalt on Central Avenue.
