RFH SHREDS NET IN SCT QUARTERFINAL

Playing at home, top seed Rumson-Fair Haven raced to a 10-0 halftime lead on the way to a 15-2 victory over Shore Regional in the Shore Conference Tournament boys’ lacrosse quarterfinal Tuesday. Shore Sports Zone has the action on video.

HOCKEY: RED BANK CATHOLIC TOPS BRICK

It was senior night at the Red Bank Armory as Evan Hoey and Alec Mintz had one goal and two assists to propel Red Bank Catholic to a 4-3 win against Brick Township  Wednesday night. OUTDOOR CLASSIC HOCKEY: R-FH 7, RBC 5


Fans lined the boards and the upper terrace of the Navesink Country Club in Middletown Saturday night for the annual Winter Classic hockey game, pitting Red Bank Catholic against Rumson-Fair Haven. Connor Deverin and Robbie Garavante scored two goals apiece as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-2 lead after two periods and held on to win, 7-5. Evan Hoey became RBC’s all-time leading scorer in the loss, when his third goal of the night got him to 142 career points. Shore Sports Zone has the video highlights. HOCKEY: RBC 5, FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP 1

Evan Hoey’s hat trick paced Red Bank Catholic to a home win at the Red Bank Armory Ice Complex Wednesday night. The Caseys raced to a 3-0 lead before Max Halvorsen got the Patriots on the board late in the first.  Hoey closed out the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the third period. RFH BOYS STOPPED IN TOURNEY OF CHAMPS

Rumson-Fair Haven’s boys’ lacrosse team hit the wall at Bridgewater-Raritan Regional on Saturday, falling 7-0 to Summit in the state Tournament of Champions. Shore Sports Zone has the action on video. For the Bulldogs, the game marked the end of an historic season, as they became the first Shore Conference team to win a boys lacrosse state championship.

RFH WINS SOUTH JERSEY GROUP 1 LAX TITLE

The lacrosse squad of Rumson-Fair Haven missed out on a Shore Conference championship this year, but picked up another prize Saturday, topping New Providence, 12-8, for the South Jersey Group 1 sectional championship. Shore Sports Zone has the action and post-game commentary on video.

The Bulldogs, who started the season at 0-4, will now face Mountain Lakes on Wednesday at a neutral site for the Group 1 state championship.

RFH FAILS IN BID FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT TITLE

Defending Shore Conference lacrosse champs Rumson-Fair Haven came up emptyhanded in their quest for a fifth consecutive lacrosse title as they fell to Southern Regional, 16-6, in the title game at Monmouth University Tuesday. RFH UP FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT LACROSSE TITLE

Defending five-time Shore Conference lacrosse champs Rumson-Fair Haven heads to yet another title game following its 6-0 demolition of Freehold Township at Toms River Saturday. The Bulldogs will be seeking their fifth consecutive title when they face undefeated Southern Regional at Monmouth University at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Shore Sports Zone has the action on video.

BORDENTOWN ENDS SEASON FOR RFH BOYS

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional’s dream season on the hardcourt ended with a 62-56 loss to Bordentown at home Friday night. Shore Sports Zone has the video highlights.

The Bulldogs can console themselves with the Shore Conference title they won last month. Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs are still alive in the state tourney, as are both the boys’ and girls’s teams of Red Bank Catholic.

In one of the biggest shockers in Shore Conference Tournament history, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional stole the SCT championship with a 50-24  crusing of  top-seeded Christian Brothers Academy Friday night at Monmouth U. RFH, CBA TO VIE FOR SCT TITLE

With a 37-29 win over Neptune at Brookdale Community College Wednesday night, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional advanced to Shore Conference Tournament championship game against top-seeded Christian Brothers Academy Friday night at Monmouth U. Trailing 19-17 at the half, the Bulldogs put together a big third quarter to go up, 28-22, and iced the game at the free throw line. TITLE COMPANY EXEC GETS 12 YEARS IN JAIL
