Like a dog aroused by the smell of food, Red Bank’s pandemic-interrupted Dog Days of Summer series snapped back to life in Marine Park Saturday.
The gathering, organized by the borough’s Animal Welfare Advisory Committee, featured live music by the Wag, displays by pet care organizations and several hundred wet noses.

Friday, September 6:
MIDDLETOWN: The first and third Friday’s of the month mean Teen Art Club at the Middletown Public Library. This twice-monthly teen-led art session requires few tools: a drawing pad and pencil. Teen Art Club begins at 4 p.m. 55 New Monmouth Road.
RED BANK: The Count Basie 365 Cultural Series presents some cool Friday night jazz to cool down the summer heat in the pocket park at Shrewsbury Avenue and Drs. James Parker Boulevard. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
SANDY HOOK: Celebrate the end of summer as the Sandy Hook Foundation presents local caterers, live music and auction items at the End of Summer Party. Proceeds benefit the restoration, maintenance, and education projects of the National Park Service. The farewell to summer runs from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Sandy Hook North Beach.
Red Bank debuted a spring version of its annual September Street Fair on Sunday in bright sunshine and cool weather, and thousands of visitors turned out to peruse crafts and taste the food. Proceeds benefitted the borough Police Benevolent Association, which plans to donate some to the Red Bank branch of the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, said Patrolman Jorge Torres.

Sundays balmy mid-70s temperatures brought locals out in droves to experience the eclectic collection displayed at the Red Bank Street Fair.
The annual event offers residents and visitors six hours of live music and 200 stands of crafts, clothing and flavorful foods most of which have been dipped into a vat of frying oil.
This year was no different. Broad Street and Monmouth Street were overrun with excited kids in strollers, happy dogs on leashes, and adults of all ages eager to give the summer a proper send-off.
Red Bank’s annual Street Fair drew early-autumn skies plus an orchestra, lots of crafts makers, the Socialist Party, food vendors and a whole slew of home-improvement contractors to Broad and Monmouth streets Sunday.
