This just in from the Monmouth County engineering department Wednesday afternoon:
Beginning tonight, from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m., the bridge on West Front Street over Swimming River will be closed for the delivery and setting of the beams for the new bridge.
Beneath a cloudless sky, Sea Bright snapped back to life as a beach destination Monday, Memorial Day, seven months after Hurricane Sandy all but obliterated its downtown and oceanfront beach clubs.
One, Chapel Beach Club, above, boasted its restoration was “Done,” while work continued at the Valkryrie Squash Club. Elsewhere, beachgoers happily made due with less than full amenities.

Seven months after Hurricane Sandy slammed ashore, Sea Bright enters the summer of 2013 far from fully recovered, with many buildings and storefronts still boarded up or demolished.
But there is ample evidence of rebuilding, and hope in the air, as the weather warms and more and more people begin to show up at the shore community.
For all our losses, we managed to keep our customers, said Frank Bain, owner of Bains Hardware, one of the first businesses on Ocean Avenue to reopen after the hurricane. Business has been steady since we opened our doors. Its safe to say the shop is back to normal. Were here, and were ready for the upcoming season.

Sea Bright business owners struggling to reopen their stores damaged by Hurricane Sandy will be allowed to operate from mobile trailers under a measure approved by the borough council this week.
And one merchant is angling for permission to sell her wares from a tent on the town’s tiny boardwalk on weekends this summer.

Little Silver police reported Seven Bridges Road reopened Monday evening after a nine-month closure.
But Monmouth County has no immediate plans to remove two controversial traffic lights installed to facilitate traffic flows through detours necessitated by the project, said Mayor Bob Neff.

A preliminary concept for a new beach pavilion in Sea Bright drew fire at its introduction during Tuesday nights council meeting.
The plan calls for a two-story beach structure located on the former Peninsula House property, according to borough Architect Robert Adler, although the exact location within that property is still to be determined.
Three months into the rebuilding of a bridge on Seven Bridges Road in Little Silver, a sturdy footbridge has been installed. Previously, pedestrians and bikers, including students at Point Road School, were forced to use a cordoned-off shoulder of the bridge under reconstruction.
The $2.7 million replacement of the timber bridge over Little Silver Creek was anticipated to take six months or more when the Monmouth County engineer launched the project in July. (Click to enlarge)
