Fisk Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fair Haven was the recipient OF an outpouring of community assistance on September 12, when local volunteers helped paint the house of worship.
The eighth-grade class at the Markham Place School in Little Silver spent the day Wednesday carrying on a school tradition: painting the windows of downtown businesses for Halloween.

Tucked away in the row of small shops next door to the Dublin House Pub in Red Bank is one of two new boutiques featured in this edition of Retail Churn: a specialty paint store called Paint Passion.
The other, located just across Monmouth Street from the pub, combines two businesses in one: vintage clothing and hot yoga.
Residents of the Green awoke to cool temperatures in the low 60s Thursday morning, which reminded redbankgreen of these photos from a week ago, taken on West River Road and in Rumson, where Bruce Murray and Ivan Figueroa were giving Diane Turton Realty’s home a crisp new coat of paint. Artist Jim Kovic, right, puts the finishing touches Sunday on the retro-postcard-style mural he painted on a building at Ocean Avenue and Peninsula Avenue in Sea Bright. On Tuesday, he’s planning to sign the work and host visitors from Benjamin Moore Paints, which supplied the paint both for the mural and the downtown makeover that it caps off.

Near the north end of downtown Sea Bright, muralist Jim Kovic, right, is transforming a building wall along Peninsula Avenue into a giant, old-style postcard. “Every great city deserves great art,” said Kovic, of Highlands.

Sea Bright’s business district is getting a free paint job this week, courtesy of Benjamin Moore, and the town plans to celebrate with a party this Saturday.
The free event, hosted by the paint manufacturer, is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in a parking lot near the Hurricane Sandy-destroyed former post office, and will feature food from borough restaurants, a DJ, a scavenger hunt and the creation of a mural. (Photos by John T. Ward. Click to enlarge)
