RED BANK: COP NABS MAN FOR BURGLARY

A Red Bank policeman suffered minor injuries in a scuffle with an alleged car burglar he chased through hedges and a fence early Tuesday morning, redbankgreen has learned.

Patrolman Benjamin Springer suffered a hand injury when the suspect smashed one of Springer’s hands against the pavement outside 148 Monmouth Street. according to Chief Darren McConnell.

RED BANK: SUSPECT CHARGED IN BIZ SMASH-IN

Red Bank police arrested a borough man early Thursday, shortly after a business burglary and less than 24 hours after three other businesses were burglarized in the same vicinity, redbankgreen has learned.

Chief Darren McConnell said patrols stopped and arrested Mario Sciacca, 35, of West Bergen Place, shortly after he was recognized on a surveillance video at a business that had been burglarized on East Newman Springs Road.

RED BANK: FLEEING MAN PULLED FROM RIVER

A motorcyclist was forcibly pulled from the Swimming River in Red Bank after he sped off from a traffic stop in Little Silver Saturday night, authorities said.

According to Little Silver police Chief Dan Shaffery, a patrol attempted to pull over Armando Cruz, 27, of Red Bank, for a traffic violation on Branch Avenue at 10:36 p.m. when he took off.
