MTOWN NORTH TOPS RFH ON ICE, 8-6

Down 5-1 in the second period, Rumson-Fair Haven eventually drew even with Middletown North in the Handchen Cup final on the ice in Wall Thursday night. But led by Bobby Hampton, who had two goals and two assists, North skated off with an 8-6 win and the cup, and now turns its attention to a state championship tournament.(Video courtesy of Shore Sports Zone.)

MIDDLETOWN SOUTH BLANKS RBR ON ICE, 5-0

Middletown South held Red Bank Regional scoreless as Gavin Gulash and Ryan Lambert each scored two goals on the ice at the Red Bank Armory Saturday.

NEW HOCKEY COACH FOR RUMSON-FAIR HAVEN

Anthony Nemati, who has found success on the ice as a hockey player and as a coach, has been announced as the Ice Hockey Coach at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.  anthonynemati

“RFH has established a reputation for great academic and athletic excellence, and I look forward to working with the hockey program’s talented roster of student athletes,” said Nemati. “It is a privilege to work with the exceptional faculty, staff, and student body.”

Nemati, who is certified as a USA Hockey Level Four Coach, began playing ice hockey on a travel team at the age of six and has played for the New Jersey Devils Youth and American Eagles Hockey Clubs.
