On the evening of May 28, the annual “RFH Night of the Arts” spotlighting the spring concert and student art exhibit took place at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. This year’s event featured artwork and musical performances by RFH students who were honored at the Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival, held this past March at Brookdale Community College.

Attendees at “RFH Night of the Arts” enjoyed the spring concert including performances by the school’s Concert Band, Jazz Orchestra, Chorus, and String Ensemble, as well as solo acts. The RFH Jazz Choir performed for the opening of the Teen Arts Festival, while the Jazz Orchestra received the prized “Top of the Top” designation for the third consecutive year. Based on their performance, a jazz ensemble comprised of RFH students including Paddy Ahimovic and Christopher Fahey was invited to perform at the Monmouth County Art Education Awards ceremony, and RFH art students Taylor Blewett, Becca Ley, and Lauren Mueller were named “Top of the Top” in visual arts.

RUMSON-FAIR HAVEN GIRLS EARN TITLES

Winter_Track_Sect_ChampsThe Girls Winter Track Team from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School has reigned victorious, earning the school’s first State Group II State Relay Championship for Winter Track and scoring its fourth consecutive Central Jersey Group II Sectional Title.

The historic State Group II Relay Championship was the result of a first-place finish at the State Relays in January, where 24 teams competed and RFH bested Holmdel by three points. RFH medaled in five of six races, with senior Janie DeVito competing in three of those events. Senior Hannah Anderson ran two of the races as did junior Morgan Steinhacker, who clinched the 4 X 400 relay with her outstanding anchor leg.

At the State Sectional Championship on February 8, the RFH girls earned their fourth straight Central Jersey Group II title.

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School girls indoor track and field team captured its third consecutive NJSIAA Central Group II Sectional Championship on Friday, January 31 at the The Bennett Center in Toms River, New Jersey.

As a result of their performances, ten members of RFH girls track and field and two members of RFH boys track and field advanced to the NJSIAA State Group Championship.

RFH Head Coach Tim McLoone attributes this season’s success to his team’s extraordinary depth as well as the upperclassmen’s unselfish dedication to mentoring the younger runners.

“Hardworking and competitive girls like this make coaching easy,” said McLoone. “They are mature and determined in their approach to both training and racing, and this is the result.”

BIG FINISH FOR RFH GIRLS TEAMS’ SEASON

IMG_5404The Girls Cross Country Team at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School finished third in the state the Meet of Champions on November 23…while the RFH Girls’ Soccer squad clinched the NJSIAA Group II Championship that same day.

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Girls’ Soccer players put the “team” in “teamwork” to clinch the NJSIAA Group II Championship on Saturday, November 23.

The girls bested Bernards High School at The College of New Jersey with a score of 2-1 to win the second Group II Title in the program’s history. RFH earned its first Group crown in 2008, with the varsity girls ended their season with a record of 16-7-1.

The RFH girls’ varsity soccer players are Schuyler DeBree, Allie Cuje, Janie DeVito, Anna Finn, Caitlin Griffith, Kaitlyn Hess, Meagan McGurl, Lindsay McKean, Olivia Rosenberg, Michaela Borneo, Lindsey Corydon, Allie Geiger, Emma Gill, Caroline Kostecky, Jacqueline Littleson, Morgan Mulligan, Samantha Beaudreault, Catie Clark, Grace Forsyth, and Hanna LoSavio.

Donna Dini and Jeff Herkimer serve as Assistant Coaches for the RFH Girls Soccer team.
