Coming off their week-prior loss to Red Bank Regional, the Red Bank Catholic Caseys rebounded impressively on the road against Manalapan Friday night, coming away with a 33-14 win.

With both teams coming in at 5-0, the Red Bank Catholic at Red Bank Regional football clash stoked expectations Friday night. And the crosstown rivalry delivered the drama.

Week three of the 2015 high school football season kicked off with Friday night victories by Red Bank Regional and Red Bank Catholic, and the video cameras of Shore Sports Zone were there.
On the road at Ocean Township, the RBR Bucs’ 16-6 win was highlighted by an 88-yard TD by Matt Reardon on a a Jack Navitsky pass to end the third quarter. Reardon also busted up Ocean’s attempt for two after its lone touchdown. The Bucs are now 3-0 on the season.

How did your high school football team do Friday night? Pretty darn well, if you’re talking about Rumson-Fair Haven, Red Bank Catholic or Red Bank Regional, as this monster highlight reel from Shore Sports Zone shows.
Playing at home, the R-FH Bulldogs topped the Matawan Huskies 17-0 in a game with a scoreless second half. Quarterback Michael O’Connor connected with sophomore receiver Elijah McAllister for a 16-yard touchdown pass: check it out at the start of the reel.
Fast-forward to 5:50 if you’re in a rush to see how Eddie Hahn and the 2014 state champion RBC Caseys played against St. Joe’s of Metuchen. A week after putting the Caseys in the capable hands of backup QB Colin Shaughnessy, Hahn returned from injury for his first appearance of the season by tossing three TDs, including a 49-yarder to Mike Wilen, who also ripped an 80-yard TD run against the Falcons.
Then zap ahead to 9:40 to see highlights of Colts Neck at RBR, where a Matt Reardon interception sparked an offensive blitzkrieg that ended with a 30-0 blowout win for the Bucs, their second straight. Nick Cella’s “pinball” scoring run for Red Bank Catholic against Manalapan on October 24 was the best TD run of the year in Monmouth and Ocean counties, according to viewers of Shore Sports Zone, the all-video online channel that debuted this year. And Cella’s honor was one of many at the first-ever SSZ All-Zone Banquet at IPlay America in Freehold Tuesday night.

Led by quarterback Eddie Hahn and running back Tommy Spernal, Red Bank Catholic steamrolled Delbarton by a score of 45-20 for the state title in Non-Public, Group 3 football at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands Sunday night.
