No damage is known to have occurred in and around Red Bank. But the temblor lit up social media.

ON THE GREEN: BROOKDALE BUS LINES MERGED

rb bus 112115Commuting to Brookdale Community College in Lincroft via New Jersey Transit bus will no longer require a transfer in Red Bank under a new route alignment announced Tuesday. According to the report, the 833 and 835 routes will be merged into a new route numbered 838, “providing commuters from Freehold, Sea Bright, Rumson, Fair Haven and eastern Red Bank with a ‘one-seat’ ride to the Lincroft campus” by eliminating a transfer, according to the Asbury Park Press.  (Photo by John T. RBC GIRLS HEAD TO STATE LACROSSE SEMIS

The Red Bank Catholic girls’ lacrosse squad broke open a 9-7 halftime lead with dominant play in the second half to secure a 20-10 home win against Freehold Township in the quarterfinals of the Shore Conference girls lacrosse tournament Wednesday. Cami Lynch scored six goals and dished out five assists, and Olivia Farrington added five goals in the win. Watch the highlights from Count Basie Field  courtesy of Shore Sports Zone.

The Caseys next take on Shore Regional under the lights at Ocean Township Friday night at 7 p,m.,  following the other semifinal matchup of Rumson-Fair Haven and Manasquan at 5 p.m.

RED BANK CHARGES CAR BURGLARY SUSPECT

A Farmingdale man already in jail on charges of breaking into unlocked cars all over the redbankgreen coverage area and beyond now faces additional charges for the same crimes in Red Bank, police said.

Rodney Tyler, 19, was charged with five counts of burglary and theft on Thursday, closing the book on a round of break-ins that occurred on the East Side of town, police Captain Darren McConnell said Wednesday.

“It was back when we had a slew of them, back in March,” McConnell said.

DISPATCH FIXES PLANNED FOR FAIR HAVEN

Responding to long-standing concerns from Fair Haven’s first responders about emergency dispatch service, Monmouth County officials have put in place short- and long-term measures to fix lag times and clarity in 911 calls, borough Administrator Theresa Casagrande said.

The actions, she said in a memo to the council, “will provide the borough with quality dispatch services now and in the future.”
