Recently, The Source in-school program at Red Bank Regional High School hosted its 17th annual year end reception, a celebratory event to award student scholarships and honor the Community Partnerships that enable its mission, “To remove all obstacles that impede the success of young people in our community.”

Set in ancient-times Arabia, the musical Kismet takes place where magic may or may not be real, and true love is found in the power of poetry. From the streets to the palaces of Bagdad in A.D. 1071, the story of four interwoven lives coming together to sing, dance and celebrate the mystery of “fate” is the essence of the musical that comes to the stage of Red Bank Regional High School beginning Thursday, March 23, as the spring theatrical from the school’s celebrated performing arts program.

“Education is the key to life,” Lynese Rawlins told her audience at Red Bank Regional High School, as she addressed the student body during the school’s Black History Month observance on February 2.
A college student who recently graduated early from Montclair State University, and who plans to attend law school in the fall, the Class of 2013 RBR grad returned to her alma mater as keynote speaker for the special event.
A high-achieving student at RBR as president of her senior class, captain of the cheer-leading squad and recipient of the NJ Governor’s award in 2013, Lynese serves as a as a local role model and example of how hard work and determination breeds success.

On October 7 through 11, Red Bank Regional High School celebrated the state-mandated Week of Respect with inspiring poetry, songs, and outreach. In a statement, RBR Principal Risa Clay remarked, “Although the state requires that all schools set aside a week in October to celebrate respect, it is important to remember that our school community practices these values all year long.”
