LINCROFT: CBA SENIORS SHOW RESEARCH

Press release from Christian Brothers Academy

On May 15, just prior to the school’s graduation ceremony, seniors in the Senior Scholars Program at Christian Brothers Academy presented their research as part of the second annual CBA Scholars Colloquium.

The evening featured four presentations, held in the Henderson Theatre, during which members showcased an incredible degree of dedicated research, experimentation, and practical findings. Each senior provided a 30-minute presentation of their topic, led question-and-answer session, and explained their plans for continued study. Senior Manny Lazarro served as master of ceremonies for the event.

LINCROFT: CBA HOSTS SCHOLARS SHOWCASE

A prototype breath-powered phone charger.  A self-constructed quadcopter used to shoot video and approximate search and rescue operations. A presentation on how the U.S. electoral system differs from those of England and France. An original comedy play, and an original piano piece composed by a self-taught keyboard artist.

These works of art, engineering and scholarship are actually the doing of five high school students — all of them seniors at Lincroft’s Christian Brothers Academy. And on the evening of Tuesday, May 17, the school will showcase the research projects and findings of these incredibly gifted students, during its first ever Scholars Colloquium. The public is welcome to attend the 7 p.m. event, and details can be obtained by calling the school at (732)747-1959.
