RED BANK: FIGHT DISRUPTS SOCIAL EVENT

Police from several towns converged on the Bates Elks Lodge on Shrewsbury Avenue in Red Bank shortly before midnight Saturday on reports of a large fight. Middletown, Little Silver and Monmouth County Sheriff’s officers responded to a request for help with crowd control, and one Red Bank officer, trying to disperse the crowd, was briefly mistaken for a possible perpetrator without incident, said Chief Darren McConnell.

Police arrested Anthony Smith, 32, of Red Bank, for disorderly conduct and Ernest Phillips, 49, of Eatontown for disorderly conduct and marijuana possession, McConnell said. (Photo by John T. Ward. Click to enlarge)

MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER STABBING

A Long Branch man is in critical condition after being stabbed “numerous times” on Red Bank’s West Side early this morning, police said in statement.

No arrests have been made after Ja’Sheem Eyem-Supreme Allah, also known as Sean Stovall, 38, was assaulted and stabbed in an altercation in the parking lot of the Bates Lodge on Shrewsbury Avenue just after midnight, police said.

BRAWL OUTSIDE CLUB ENDS IN THREE ARRESTS

A post-party melee outside a Red Bank social club early Saturday morning drew a police response from at least ten local departments and resulted in three arrests, police report.

Captain Darren McConnell tells redbankgreen that borough officers on patrol at 1:26a came upon the scene of a brawl involving an estimated 60 people outside the Elks Bates Lodge 220, at 306 Shrewsbury Avenue.

The cause of the fracas is unknown, McConnell said, but occurred as a private function was letting out at the lodge.
