RUMSON: SHOTS LEAD TO CONTEMPT CHARGE

AUTHORITIES_RUMSON2A Philadelphia man was in custody Monday after firing a pistol inside a Rumson residence Sunday night, police said.

But Robert Toros, 36, was charged with contempt of court and not for any violations relating to the discharge of the gun, though additional charges may be brought, Detective Chris Isherwood told redbankgreen Monday.

RUMSON: GUNFIRE IN HOME INVESTIGATED

AUTHORITIES_RUMSON2Rumson police were questioning two people Sunday night following an incident in which a gun was fired multiple times inside the basement of a home here.

No one was injured in the incident, which came less than 24 hours after a domestic dispute at the same address, on Auldwood Lane, Chief Scott Paterson told redbankgreen.

RUMSON CRASH INJURES TEEN

The newspaper reports borough police did not respond to requests for details. Update, Monday, 10 a.m. from Rumson PD:

The Rumson Police Department is investigating a single car motor vehicle accident which occurred on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at approximately 3:45 am. The operator, Ethan Danzi age 18 of Rumson, was alone in the vehicle when it left the roadway and struck a home located near the intersection of Rumson Road and Hance Rd. in Rumson. Danzi was flown by helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Fire and EMS Units from the following towns responded and assisted: Rumson, Little Silver, Fair Haven, Sea Bright, Asbury Park, and MONOC. The following law enforcement agencies that assisted at the scene included: Little Silver, Fair Haven, and Monmouth County SCART. The investigation is being handled by Rumson Patrolman Daniel J. Campanella and Monmouth County SCART. Anyone with information is requested to  call the Rumson Police Department at 732-842-0500.

Police have no condition report on the victim, said Captain Jeff Nixon.

LITTLE SILVER: BASEMENT FIRE INJURES ONE

A volunteer Little Silver firefighter suffered a minor injury while combating a smoky basement fire on Conover Place Monday afternoon, the Asbury Park Press reports.

The unidentified firefighter, one of more than 50 from four towns who responded to the 4:30 p.m. alarm, was treated on the scene for a leg injury, Fire Chief Andrew Smith told the Press.

BASEMENT FIRE DOUSED IN LITTLE SILVER

just_in1Volunteer firefighters in Little Silver made quick work of a residential basement fire Monday night.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, reported at about 11 p.m., at 31 Little Silver Point Road, said Fire Chief James Jiminaro.

Contrary to a report on a commercial pager alert system that firefighters were attempting to rescue someone from the unfinished cellar, no one was in the basement at the time, Jiminaro tells redbankgreen.
