RED BANK: MOTORCYCLIST HURT IN CRASH
A Florida motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a car while riding in Red Bank Tuesday evening, police Chief Darren McConnell tells redbankgreen.

Pilgrim Baptist Church of Red Bank will host its sixth annual Community Unity & Bike Blessing Festival Saturday, a free and open-to-all event that features food, live entertainment, community safety presentations and other attractions.
FAIR HAVEN: THREE MOTORCYCLES HIT
Three people were hospitalized after a motor vehicle collided with three motorcycles in Fair Haven Sunday morning, police said.
According to a statement by borough police, the operator of the vehicle and two motorcyclists were taken to the hospital for treatment after the 11:18 a.m, accident, at River Road and Lincoln Avenue.
LINCROFT: MOTORCYCLIST DIES IN CRASH

A motorcyclist was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Lincroft Sunday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred on West Front Street just east of Shady Oaks Way at 2:52 p.m., according to Deputy Chief Steve Dollinger.

RED BANK: SHEEHAN CLASSIC IN 100 PHOTOS
More than 1,300 runners and walkers finished the 21st annual George Sheehan Classic five-kilometer (3.1-mile) race in Red Bank and Little Silver under partly sunny skies and warm conditions Saturday morning.
Mark Leininger, 24, finished first, with a time of 15:09.5, or a pace of 4:53 per mile. Marisa Cummings, 23, of Spring Lake, was first among women, clocking in at 18:03.1, or a pace of 5:49. Complete results are here.

RED BANK: BIKER TAKES BROAD STREET SPILL

M’TOWN LIONS HOST AUTO SHOW, MOTO MEET
Some fabulous flivvers (like this wood-bodied 1910 Ford Model T) have been featured in past editions of the annual Auto Show and Motorcycle Meet at Middletown Shopping Center. The ninth annual event chugs into the Route 35 plaza on Saturday, October 11.

For the ninth consecutive year, the New Jersey Blind Citizens Association (NJBCA) and the Middletown Lions Club Foundation will co-host a charitable and family-friendly Auto Show and Motorcycle Meet in the parking lot of Middletown Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Route 35 and New Monmouth Road. Scheduled for the hours of 2 to 6 pm on Saturday, October 11 (with a rain date of Sunday, October 12), the event which will help fund programs for the blind and visually-impaired and other sight-related initiatives.
Members of the public are invited to attend the free afternoon of activities which will feature show cars of all types, motorcycles, vendors, and entertainment for adults and children. All classes of vehicles — including classic, stock, custom, antique, hot rod, collector, imports, luxury, muscle, and trucks — are encouraged to enter, in addition to all classes of motorcycles. All event proceeds will support the charitable programs and initiatives of both NJBCA and the Middletown Lions Club Foundation.

Burglary occurring between 9-27-13 and 9-28-13 at East Bergen Place—business. Victim reported that the sliding door frame to rear of business was damaged and entry gained by unknown person(s). This building contained several offices. Stolen were, two laptops, one tablet, five guitars, one yukelalie, and one amplifier. Sgt. Michael Frazee.
Theft occurring on 9-28-13 at McClaren St. Victim reported that unknown person(s) stole her ceramic lighthouse with solar light from front lawn. Ptl. David Smith.

MIDDLETOWN CRASH KILLS MOTORCYCLIST
This just in from Middletown PD:
On September 4, 2013 at approximately 3:04pm the Middletown Police Department responded to the area of West Front Street and Harbor Green Circle in reference to a motor vehicle collision. Preliminary investigation revealed Robert Depalma, age 69, from Monroe Township, was operating a motor cycle travelling east bound on West Front Street when he was struck by a vehicle travelling west bound that was attempting to make a left turn onto Harbor Green Circle operated by Daniella Coccurello, age 23, from Lincroft, NJ.

POST-SANDY, A BRIGHTER SEA BRIGHT
After wading waist-deep into churning water on Ocean Avenue during the storm on Monday, photographer Peter Lindner returned to Sea Bright on Saturday, along with redbankgreen‘s John T. Ward, to document the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Here are 150 of Lindner’s shots. Some of Ward’s pix on are redbankgreen‘s Facebook page.
Lindner and Ward were permitted into town by local officials, who were in their second day of ferrying Sea Bright residents into town, by dumptruck, to give them just a few minutes to collect pets, medicines, clothing and other personal items from their homes.

RED BANK KIDS TOUCH A TRUCK (OR 16)
Monmouth Day Care Center drew over 200 families to its third
annual Touch a Truck fundraiser, held at the Red Bank Middle School Saturday. Sixteen vehicles (a fire truck, limo, speedboat, bulldozer and more) were giddily honked and climbed as kids explored the machinery parked throughout Red Bank Middle Schools parking lot. Tickets were $10 per family and went toward the nonprofit MDCC’s operating costs and a scholarship fund. FUN RUN STARTS HERE, WITH A ROAR

A SHORTER, SWIFTER SHEEHAN
Thirteen hundred runners and walkers finished the 19th annual running of the George Sheehan Classic in Red Bank and Little Silver under sunny skies and mild temperatures Saturday morning. It was the first edition in which the race was trimmed to a five-kilometer (3.1-mile) distance, from five miles.
Highlights included a man running up Tower Hill while talking on a cell phone, a drum-pounding Uncle Sam at the top of the hill, and a wayward walker who made a wrong turn and got briefly lost.
Broad Street was reopened to traffic at 10:06 a.m., the earliest ever for the event, though six minutes later than race organizers had set as their new goal.

RUMSON NABS TWO FOR DWI, AND MORE
A carload of young adults and a motorcyclist involved in a spill were charged with alcohol-related offenses after separate incidents in Rumson this weekend, according to police.
BIG RETURN HOME FOR LITTLE SILVER MARINE
After six months of intense fighting in Afghanistan, Lance Corporal Brian Dilger of the U.S. Marines was welcomed home on leave in Little Silver Sunday.
The 22-year-old Red Bank Catholic grad was treated to an impromptu fire-and-first aider’s parade through town led by the Warriors Watch Riders, who drove up from Camden County for the occasion.

Tonight, they’ll be lining the streets of Red Bank’s business district in remembrance of a good friend, to benefit of a great cause.
Once a semi-regular Friday night occurrence, Red Bank Cruise Night returns for a special edition presented by Red Bank RiverCenter in conjunction with Friends of Stu Paer an organization co-founded by Frank Woods, borough code enforcement officer and, as a classic car owner himself, an organizer of the annual Liberty Hose Car Show.
FIRE COMPANY CAR SHOW SHINES AGAIN
The ninth annual Bob ‘Doc’ Holiday Classic Car Show, organized by Red Bank’s Liberty Hose Company, motored into the White Street municipal parking lot under a sparkling blue summer sky Sunday.
The event, which raises funds for the volunteer company’s operations, drew a record 350 cars and motorcycles despite competition from two large car shows elsewhere in the Shore region.
