RED BANK: NO PLANS FOR LUNCH BREAK LOT

WhatsGoingOnHereA long-vacant house next door to Lunch Break in Red Bank was razed in recent days.

What’s Going on Here?

Um, nothing, actually, or nothing immediately.

Lunch Break, which owns the Drs. James Parker Boulevard property, tore the house down for safety and aesthetic reasons, executive director Gwendolyn Love tells redbankgreen. Officials at the charity soup kitchen are discussing how the site might be used to address short-term needs, she said.

Meantime, Lunch Break plans to host its annual Taste of Summer party from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach, featuring savory samplings from many of New Jersey’s finest restaurants. Tickets are $75 for individuals and $600 for a table of 10, and may be purchased online here.

Lunch Break and partners are also teaming up to host the fifth annual Red Bank Community Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at the Community YMCA. (Photo by John T. Ward. Click to enlarge.)
