RED BANK: AN EASTER PARKING LOT PARTY

Press release from First Baptist Church of Red Bank

It’s being called “The Sheepishly Awesome, Amazingly Grand Billy Affair” — a way for families to welcome the coming of Easter Sunday, in a way that offers a delightful alternative to the usual egg hunts.

On Saturday, April 8, the corner of Oakland Street and Maple Avenue will the scene of a Parking Lot Party, as First Baptist Church Red Bank invites young members of the community to enjoy face painting, bounce houses, crafts, welcome gift and goodie bags, and a chance to meet and greet some really cute baby sheep and goats.

Observed by Christians around the world, Easter is a celebration of Jesus Christ. Since Jesus loved children and taught that we were all part of His flock, these baby animals — brought to FBC as our guests by a community loving local farming family — remind us that Easter is close.

Beginning at 10 a.m., visitors can stop by to see the babies, maybe pet them, feed them, watch them and say hi to them. Make sure to arrive before 2 p.m., when the gentle little animals will return home to their mothers on the farm.

Come out to First Baptist for a day of family fun during the April 8 Parking Lot Party (bottled water will be provided for that needed break). Then join us for Palm Sunday services the next day at 10:30 a.m., and find out even more by visiting www.fbcredbank.com or calling the church at (732)747-0671.
