Incumbent Republican Brian Kelly and independent Kevin Birdsall won the two open council seats in Sea Bright Tuesday, according to results posted by the Monmouth County Clerk.

Republican Jennifer Walsh came in third, with independent Linda Lamia bringing up the rear.

A Lamia win would have set up A first in borough history, according to the Two River Times: a woman and her husband serving on the council at the same time. Lamia’s husband, John Lamia, was elected to the governing body in 2014 as a Republican.
