RED BANK: TWO SLASHED AT PARTY
Two men were slashed by a knife-wielding assailant at a party in Red Bank early Friday morning, police said.
One of the victims, a 46-year-old male, suffered a facial laceration and was transported by MONOC ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune following the 1:30 a.m. incident, police Chief Darren McConnell tells redbankgreen.
The wound was not life-threatening, and the victim was either released or about to be released from the hospital at 11 a.m., McConnell said.
The second victim suffered a minor cut, he said, and was transported by police to Riverview Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
McConnell said the attacks occurred at a “party gone wrong” at a house on Herbert Street just west of Shrewsbury Avenue. At least one victim is believed to have been acquainted with the assailant, who used a large kitchen knife in the slashings.
Police are working on identifying the assailant and no arrest has yet been made, McConnell said.
