SHREWSBURY: A HEALTHY TOPIC FOR LUNCH

Women's Heart FundPress release from The Women’s Heart Fund

On Thursday, June 2, the Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury will be the setting, as the Women’s Heart Fund hosts its 10th Annual Spring Luncheon. All members of the community are invited to attend the fundraising event scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and learn more about important women’s health topics through a newly introduced interactive panel discussion.

The luncheon, chaired by Francine Acquaviva and Alyssa McKenna, will also feature a networking hour, an array of assorted hors d’oeuvres, a plated lunch, a 50/50 raffle and an advertising journal. The panel discussion will feature executive leadership from Meridian Health and influential members of the community who will address women’s health issues, work and family life balance and simple steps we can take to be happier, healthier and more relaxed.

Participants in the panel discussion include:

• Dawn Calderon, D.O., chief of cardiology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center

• Stacy Doumas, M.D., director of education and department of psychiatry at Jersey Shore University Medical Center

• Evelyn Minaya, M.D., board certified obstetrician and gynecologist and vice president of Women Caring for Women

• Regina Foley, R.N., MHA, FACHE, FCPP, chief operating officer, Bayshore Community Hospital (moderating the panel discussion)

Over the years, Women’s Heart Fund has raised more than $550,000 to support Meridian Health’s cardiac services, programs and technology. The money raised not only benefits patients who turn to Meridian’s CardioVascular network for highly advanced, personalized cardiac care, but it has been utilized to support community outreach initiatives that focus on improving the health and wellness of our community. New this year, in addition to raising funds to support cardiac services, Women’s Heart Fund will expand their funding priorities to also include women’s health services and programs at Meridian.
