Below are details about local memorial services planned to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Middletown
Today, 8:46 a.m.
A silent tribute will be paid to Middletown’s residents who died in the World Trade Center tragedy with a wreath-laying at the Middletown World Trade Center Memorial Gardens, 36 Church Street, on at 8:46 a.m. The time marks the start of the terrorist attacks 14 years ago when the first plane hit the towers. Township Committee members as well as representatives of the Middletown Police Department, Middletown Fire Department, Middletown Emergency Medical Services, Middletown Emergency Management, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179, American Legion Post 338 and American Legion Post 515 are scheduled to participate. isitors are welcome at the Middletown WTC Memorial Gardens from dawn to dusk. An American flag flown over the World Trade Center on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will fly at the Memorial Gardens during the ceremony. In addition, an American Flag flown over the United States Capitol in memory of these Middletown residents will fly at Town Hall.
Visitors are welcome at the gardens from dawn to dusk.

Red Bank

Trinity Episcopal Church, at 65 West Front Street, will hold a 9/11 Memorial Service at which the departed of Monmouth County will be commemorated. All are welcome.
7 p.m.
Memorial service co-hosted by the borough an the Red Bank Elks Lodge #233 at Riverside Garden Park on West Front Street. All are welcome.
