HUBBARD’S BRIDGE CLOSING FOR TWO WEEKS
The new, not-quite-completed Hubbards Bridge, on West Front Street between Red Bank and Middletown, and the intersections at both ends will be closed to all traffic for two weeks starting Wednesday, August 12, Monmouth County officials announced late Friday.
The closure is needed to move overhead utilities running alongside the old bridge to underneath the new span.
The plan also calls for and intersection reconstruction work on both ends of the span that will require full closures of the intersections, according to an announcement attributed to Freeholder Tom Arnone. Detours will be in place, and this phase of the project is expected to be completed by August 26, after which completion work on the new bridge, and the removal of the old bridge will proceed, the announcement said.
A separate announcement by Red Bank Borough said the closing would las “two to three weeks.” (Photo sby John T. Ward. Click to enlarge)
