The season-spanning month of March, with its slow but inexorable forward-march toward the promise of longer days and languid twilights, has quietly nurtured a tradition that doesn’t always make the short-list of events here on the Greater Green. But savvy Shore area music fans know to mark it on their calendars.

Returning to St. George’s by the River Episcopal Church in Rumson for its 19th annual edition, the 2015 Twilight Concert commandeers that local landmark for an evening of rock-for-a-good-cause on Saturday.

Many of the participants from last year’s fundraiser will be returning for the March 7 performance — including seasoned “saloon singer” Pat Guadagno, sweet siren of folk music Maureen McCrink, Red Bank rocker ‘n realtor Jeff MacPherson, and Boss-approved blues lady Layonne Holmes. Proceeds will once more be dedicated to the  AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, for which the concert series has raised more than $530,000 since its 1997 start.

But while the 2014 concert paid tribute to the Beatles and the golden anniversary of their arrival on American soil, this year’s affair looks to the west, and offers up a soaring salute to the most successful homegrown classic rock institution of the 1970s: the Eagles.

A box-set of hits by Glenn Frey, Don Henley and Laurel Canyon’s favorite sons — from “Take It Easy,” “Tequila Sunrise” and “Take It to the Limit,” to “Life in the Fast Lane,” “Hotel California” and “Heartache Tonight” — are on tap for the show that begins at 5 pm, with a gala cocktail reception afterward.
