MIDDLETOWN: WOMAN STRUCK AND KILLED

AUTHORITIES_MTOWN2-2014A 75-year-old Middletown woman died Monday evening when she was struck crossing Route 35, township police said Tuesday.

Nadra Sourial was stuck as she crossed the highway from east to west at the intersection of Harmony Road at about 6:10 p.m., according to Captain Steve Dollinger.

She was struck by a northbound Hyundai Sonata operated by a 70-year-old man  from Matawan, he said.

Sourial was pronounced dead on the scene. A portion of the highway was closed for about four hours.

Corporal Thomas Russo and Corporal Darrin Simon of MTPD Traffic Bureau are investigating. Police ask that anyone who witnessed the crash to call 732-615-2045.

 

Vehicle was northbound. Victim crossing from northbound side to southbound side.  Pronounced at scene.
