A former State Trooper from Little Silver who was criminally prosecuted for falsifying audit reports has had his pension reduced, NJ.com reports.

Glenn Mannino, 52, a former sergeant and assistant unit head of the Criminal Justice Information System Control Unit, was sentenced last May to one year of probation, conditioned upon 50 hours of community service, three months after he pleaded guilty to tampering with records regarding audits of the computer system, which provides crime records to law enforcement agencies throughout New Jersey.

As a result of the guilty plea, Mannino forfeited his job of nearly 27 years with the State Police and was permanently barred from public employment.

Mannino was approved by the State Police Retirement System board in November for retirement retroactive to June 1, on the condition his pension be reduced.

A spokesman for the state Treasury Department, Christopher Santarelli, said Mannino will earn a pension of $55,409 annually, about 32 percent less than the $81,744 to which he was entitled before the reduction. The reduction results in a monthly payment of $4,617.
