RED BANK: CURFEW NOTICE ISSUED
With All Hallows Eve just a day away, the borough of Red Bank has issued a reminder that seems intended for mischievously minded minors.
The town sent out a notice on its alert system Thursday informing residents that a curfew is in place for both Thursday and Friday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The curfew applies to anyone under the age of 18 who is not accompanied by a parent or guardian, barring them from “all public streets, playgrounds, public buildings or places of business where the public is invited.”
Exceptions include those traveling from work to home; from a function sponsored by a religious, school, civic or other properly supervised event or program to their home; or heading home from a place at which a “bonafide, supervised, social meeting, gathering or assemblage has taken place.”
The curfew was authorized by a resolution of the borough council on October 8. The normal curfew for anyone under 18 not accompanied by a parent or guardian is 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and midnight to 6 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
