RED BANK: EATERY CONTENTS ON THE BLOCK
The oven, assuming it’s sold, will have to go out the way it went in: through the front window. Below, Anthony “Tito” Vega with the three-ton oven last year. (Photo above by John T. Ward, below by Jim Willis. Click to enlarge)

Need some sturdy metal chairs for your kitchen? How about a service counter? Or a custom-built, 6,000-pound, tile-covered, wood-burning oven?
Well, who doesn’t, right?
Here’s your chance to get those items, and more, as the contents of the short-lived Biagio restaurant in Red Bank are going up for auction.
The “complete contents” of the eatery, some of which Biagio inherited from its predecesor, Zebu Forno, will be sold, auctioneer Joe Benigno of Best Buy Auctioneers tells redbankgreen.
The event, scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at 12 Broad Street, is open to the public.
Moving into the space is Pinot’s Palette Red Bank, a franchise BYOB studio “where you can paint, drink have fun,” owner Dorothy Fadell Ferlanti wrote in a Facebook post. No information about an opening date was immediately available.
After a decade at 20 Broad, Zebu Forno moved into the space in early 2012. But just six months later, owner Andrew Gennusa partnered with Biagio Schiano, owner of Mossuto’s Market & Cafe in Wall Township, to rebrand the coffeehouse/pizzeria as Biagio, a linen-tablecloth establishment featuring pizza from a wood-fired oven custom-made in Italy.
To get the oven into the shop, the front window had to be removed, and that’s how it will have to go out, said Patrick Carroll, a representative for the building’s landlord.
Biagio closed abruptly last March without explanation.
