Press release from Navesink Business Group

The officers of Navesink Business Group have announced that tickets are on sale for the organization’s annual Waves of Support fundraising gala benefitting locally based charities.

Presented under the theme “A Taste of Broadway on the Promenade,” this year’s event will take place on Monday, September 22, 2014, at the historic Molly Pitcher Inn. The evening begins with cocktails at 6 pm, and includes a silent auction, spectacular entertainment, and a five-course dinner featuring selections from some stars of Monmouth County’s culinary landscape.

Headlining the evening’s entertainment will be a performance by The Broadway Dolls, the dynamic “girl group” founded by Hollie Howard, and featuring cast members from such Broadway hits as Mamma Mia, Rock of Ages and Jersey Boys.

Dinner will include hors d’oeuvres and several courses prepared by some of Monmouth County’s top dining spots, among them Ama Ristorante, Danny’s Steak House, David Burke Fromagerie, Soul Kitchen, Teak, The Bistro, The Cheese Cave and Zoe, in addition the executive chefs from The Molly Pitcher Inn and The Oyster Point Hotel.

“A Taste of Broadway on the Promenade will be the grand finale of Waves of Support,” said Navesink Business Group founder Robert Lowe. “Part of the evening will be dedicated to honoring several organizations and individuals who have made significant efforts in aiding our local communities.”

The evening’s honorees include The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Clean Ocean Action, Hometown Heroes, the Buhler Family, and George Lyristis of Bistro Boys Management and Red Bank Flavour.

The gala is the third event of NBG’s Waves of Support initiative, a campaign created with Jersey Promise to raise funds for continued Sandy relief for Shore communities and to support tourism at the Jersey Shore. Ten randomly chosen Monmouth and Ocean County towns have selected various organizations and businesses as recipients of the proceeds. Recipients will include the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Sea Bright Rising, Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry, Churches of the Manasquan Area Ministerium, Habitat for Humanity, Visitation Relief Center, Hometown Heroes and the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Organizations associated with this event include the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau, Freehold Network for Success, and the Northern Monmouth, Eastern Monmouth Area, Jersey Shore, Brick and Manasquan Chambers of Commerce.

Tickets for the event are $195.00 per person, or $1750.00 for a table of 10, and can be purchased in advance by visiting www.NavesinkBusinessGroup.com. Sponsorship opportunities at various levels are also available. For details on sponsorship, please contact Ken Scaggs at (732) 383-5865.

The Molly Pitcher Inn will be offering a special rate of $159.00 per night for guests who would like to stay at the sophisticated Red Bank landmark. For every room booked for the Gala, the hotel will donate 25 percent to Waves of Support.
