BASIE OFFERS ARTS IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP
Press release from Count Basie Theatre
The Count Basie Theatre has announced the establishment of the Moser Taboada Arts Impact Scholarship, generously established and funded by the Moser Taboada Law Firm of Shrewsbury.
The $2500 scholarship is open to all Monmouth County high school seniors whose lives, academic and career choices have been impacted by the arts. The nomination deadline is March 1, and scholarships will be announced and awarded on May 21 at the theatre’s annual Basie Awards ceremony. The Basie Awards honor excellence in Monmouth County high school dramatic and musical theatre.
“Our law firm is an intellectual property law firm that uses copyrights, patents and trademarks to protect the intellectual property of authors, actors, musicians and inventors,” said Moser Taboada firm partner Ray Moser. “We see creative and innovative ideas that arise from being engaged in creative and artistic activities. This scholarship is our way to give back to the community and encourage creativity and life-long learning.”
“We could not be more grateful to Moser Taboada for their support and belief in the impact of the arts,” said Count Basie Theatre’s CEO Adam Philipson. “This scholarship speaks to our education philosophy that whether or not you choose the arts as your profession, the impact of creative expression will forever change how you approach any career.”
Scholarship applications are available here. For more information on the Moser Taboada Scholarship or any of the Count Basie Theatre’s Educational Outreach programs, concert performances or other events, contact Jon Vena at jvena@countbasietheatre.org.
