A GREAT EXCUSE TO ‘GO NAKED’
The third annual Go Naked and Check Yourself event for cancer awareness and prevention returns to Red Bank on November 24, with a “fun and flirty charity event” at Red Restaurant & Lounge.
It’s an annual event that addresses a serious, life-and-death sort of topic: bringing awareness to detectable forms of cancer, and promoting simple self-examination procedures.
It’s also a “fun and flirty” night on the town in which attendees mingle, enjoy drink specials, bid on prizes and share close proximity with “lingerie and boxer clad models…no nudity of course.”
A partnership between two Red Bank retail businesses — Chris Paseka’s cupcake emporium Sugarush, and Angela Courtney’s lingerie purveyor Sweetest Sin Boutique — with the Two River Times, the fundraiser known as Go Naked and Check Yourself comes to red restaurant & lounge for the first time on the evening of November 24, in the third edition of an event that’s raised more than $20,000 for local and national cancer charities, and which has sold out in each of the past two years.
Described as “a community-wide event for businesses and residents to join together and kick off the holiday season, raising money to help those affected in Monmouth and Ocean counties,” the fundraiser “strives to empower and encourage individuals by inviting everyone to ‘go naked’ and check themselves.”
According to press materials furnished in advance of the event, “awareness, education and resources enable individuals to detect cancers before they grow to an unmanageable state. This event
