Friday, May 10:

RED BANK: Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack infests Count Basie Theater. Join faux Frank, Sammy and Dino for performances produced by the legendary Buddy Hackett. Tickets are $19.50, $29.50 and $39.50. 99 Monmouth Street.

RUMSON: The third annual “Gayla!” prom, a fun and safe evening with food and DJ takes place at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. The Rumson Fair Haven Gay-Straight Alliance partners with Make it Better for Youth to provide support kids ages 13-19 in middle, high, or home school. The prom runs from 7 to 10 p.m. tickets are $20; parental permission required. 74 Ridge Road.

RUMSON: The boys from Madison Avenue are back and will perform at Molly Maguire’s Black Point Inn. The show begins at 9 p.m.132 East River Road.

RED BANK:  The Matt Noffsinger band, voted best cover band by Night & Day Magazine, appears at the Walt Street Pub for a series of Friday night sets. The band plays covers the likes of Audioslave, the Police, Tom Petty and Bob Marley. The show begins at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.

TINTON FALLS: The Monmouth Regional Concert jazz band, directed by Gerald Romano, performs at a fundraiser for the school music programs at Monmouth Regional High School. Dinner, desserts and refreshments will be available. Tickets are $8 ($5 for seniors/students) and the show begins at 6 p.m. 1 Norman J. Way.

RUMSON: Crocheters and knitters unite their needles for “Friday Knitters” at the Oceanic Free Library in Rumson for a needlecraft event. Bring projects to show and share. The event is $25 and begins at 2 p.m. Ridge Road and Ave of Two Rivers.

Saturday, May 11:

RED BANK: Monmouth University professors and poets Michael Waters and Mihaela Moscaliuc visit the Red Bank Public Library for the River Read Reading Series “Words by the Navesink.” The reading lasts from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. 84 West Front Street.

SHREWSBURY: Celebrate and decorate for spring at the The Shrewsbury Garden Club’s annual Gardener’s Market. Support the SGC and choose from flats cut flower arrangements, hanging and container gift baskets, locally grown perennials and shrubs and a selection of herb and vegetable plants. Other workshops include flowering arranging and container planting. Funds raised will go towards the SGC’s work in several areas of the community including Patriots Isle, the Gazebo, the Shrewsbury Historical Society Cottage Garden, the Greenhouse Garden and the Herb Garden at the historic Allen House. Gardens club members will be available to help select the perfect plant. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  419 Sycamore Ave.

MIDDLETOWN: The Westminster Great Lawn Sale, “Something for Everyone,” will be set up on the front yard of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 94 Tindall Road.

SHREWSBURY: The Shore Fiber Arts Guild will be hosting “A Display of Fiber, from Sheep to Shawl,” at the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth County Library. A program designed to educate and inspire, there will be demonstrations of weaving, spinning, knitting and more. The event is free and begins at 11 a.m. 1001 Route 35 North.

RED BANK: At Red Bank Frameworks:  “Pursuing the Past: Vintage Images from the Dorn’s Archive” will feature a gallery of photographs by the late Red Bank lensman Daniel Dorn and others. The reception runs from 6 to 9 p.m. 106 Monmouth Street.

RED BANK:  Wishes come true at the Red Bank Catholic High School Make-A-Wish carnival fundraiser. “Dunk-a-Cop,” bounce around in a blow up house, or take a ride on a reckless train. All proceeds benefit the Make A Wish Foundation of New Jersey.  Donate or take part in the gift auction. There will be music and food vendors. The carnival runs from 12 to 4 p.m. St. James School.

RED BANK: Erik Stevenson of Red Bank Public Library hosts a free presentation, “How to Outsmart Your Smarthphone.”  Learn how to maximize the use of any iPhone or Android with information on Smartphone technology and terminology. MIDDLETOWN: Tracey Wolfman, RN and author Kerry Luksic participate in a free presentation, “Living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s” at the Middletown Public Library. Luksic will share her thoughts on how Alzheimer’s impacted her mother and family in a discussion of her book “Life Lessons From A Baker’s Dozen: 1 Mother, 13 Children, and Their Journey to Peace with Alzheimer’s.”  The program is designed to help individuals and families cope with the disease. The session is free and begins at 1 p.m. 55 New Monmouth Road.

RED BANK: In his third appearance at Count Basie, comedian Brian Regan brings his hilarious anecdotal tales of everyday occurrences like visits to the eye doctor and shipping a package. Tickets are $45 and $55; the show begins at 9:30 p.m. (the 7 p.m. show is sold out.) 99 Monmouth Street.

RED BANK: New Jersey singer/songwriter Bob Burger plays the Walt Street Pub at 8 p.m. 180 Monmouth Street.

RED BANK: Saloon Singers Pat Guadagno and Rich Oddo stop by Jamian’s for several Saturday night sets. The show begins at 8 p.m. 79 Monmouth Street.

RUMSON: The multifaceted Moroccan Sheepherders visit Molly Maguire’s Back Point Inn. The Sheepherders describe themselves as “difficult to categorize” and play a range of genres such as hard-core, blue-eyes blues-rock and draw influences fro African, Latin, and traditional rock bands. The show starts at 9 p.m. 132 East River Road.

Sunday, May 12:

RED BANK: Shop around the first Farmers Market of the season and help support surrounding local businesses at The Galleria Red Bank. Located in the parking lot, the market features fresh, locally grown produce as well as special crafts and eateries. The Farmers Market is a weekly event that runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until mid-November. Corner of Bridge Ave & W Front Street.

RED BANK: “Inside Amy Schumer” Comedy Central star Amy Schumer brings her quirky comedic talent to the Count Basie Theater. Tickets are $25, $29.50, and $35. The side-splitting laughs begin at 8 p.m. 99 Monmouth Street.

RED BANK: Monmouth Symphony Orchestra winners Zachary Mowitz and Kingston Ho (the first tie ever in 20 years) get a chance to dazzle listeners with their enchanting renditions of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto and Bruch’s Violin Concerto at Count Basie Theater. The concert will open with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ English Folk Suite performed by the MSO. Tickets are $35. LINCROFT: As the guest speaker of this installment of the May speaker series, Jane Reskof leads a discussion for Sunday Morning Dialog titled “Having a Lesbian Daughter:  One Mother’s Journey from Denial to Activism.” Guest speaker Reskof will be joined by her daughter, Monica at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County. The discussion begins at 9 a.m. with coffee and bagels served prior. 1475 West Front Street.

RED BANK: Take a 2.5 Minute Ride to Two River Theater to see a funny and moving autobiographical story. The one-woman show focuses on the relationship between author and storyteller Lisa Kron and her Holocaust survivor father. Tickets are $24 – $42. The one-woman show begins at 8 p.m. 21 Bridge Avenue.
