Coming off Sunday’s highly successful roll-out of an outdoor art exhibition, Red Bank hosts two more art events this week, starting with one tonight.
That’s the opening of Dynamic Constructions and the Body as a Pretext, a collection of some 50 paintings by Gabriela Rusu. The Romanian artist will be on hand for an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at 25 Bridge Avenue.
Rusu will also greet evening visitors on Thursday and again Friday, during the next edition of Red Bank ArtWalk.
Artwalk covers 16 locations spread across town, with nine of those sites hosting outdoor displays of one or more paintings in Romania native Dumitru Gorzo‘s ‘Heads’ exhibit, mounted by the New Jersey Museum of Contemporary Art.
The Gorzo show continues through October 14.
The remainder of the theaters, salons, galleries and restaurants participating in ArtWalk are hosting a variety of works by, among others, Gerda Liebmann and Bolivia-born action painter David Banegas, who’ll do one of his trademark live painting demonstrations of his specialty at Banegas Fine Art Gallery on Broad Street.
ArtWalk runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Though the itinerary is free-form, for those who’d like to meet the artists, a meet-and-greet with some of them is scheduled for the early evening at the Danish Café in the Galleria of Red Bank.
And the weather forecast for Friday is smactacular for this sort of thing: mostly clear and temperatures on their way down to 68 degrees.
