SERVE-YOURSELF YOGURT LADY TAKES CHARGE

Remember Blissberry self-serve yogurt, the franchise that planned to open on Broad Street last year?

We told you about it in this redbankgreen article in August.

Well, the franchisee, Jill Pecoraro, is still planning to open a self-serve yogurt place at the same address. Now, however, it’s a different brand: Kravings Frozen Yogurt.

What happened?

Blissberry “dissolved,” says Pecoraro, of Colts Neck, and she doesn’t mean just the product. The entire franchising operation.

Which left her having to scramble.

So Pecoraro started her own brand, Kravings. “Under pressure, you do what you have to do,” she tells Churn.

While getting ready to open her store, she’s even positioning Kravings as a business she hopes to franchise to others, but “we’re going one day at a time,” she says.

Pending completion of a couple of borough inspections, Pecoraro hopes to open Kravings on Monday, she tells Churn. The store is at 90 Broad, between Pho Le, a Vietnamese restaurant that opened in May, and Linda Martino’s beauty supply store Lux
