The Star-Ledger’s Munchmobile came to Red Bank in search of “the best pasta sauce” in New Jersey, taking up a table at Gaetano’s on Wallace Street as part of its tour.

The upshot? A mixed review in today’s paper, but high praise for the meat sauce.

But the bolognese, that hearty Italian meat sauce, was a hit to counter the previous misses. Sandy Tango called it “delectable” and “delicious,” and would name it the day’s best sauce. “Not under- or over-seasoned; it’s perfect,” Robin Friedeman added.
