Last week’s entry turned out not to be a bridge too far for Wheregulars and some newcomers alike. Most were correct in saying that our photo showed the steel plates that close the gap between the two halves of the Rumson-Sea Bright drawbridge on Rumson Road/Route 520.
“Ride my bike over it hoping to not get tire stuck too often,” writes Jenny Rossano.
But just about every local bridge was named, as our respondents hedged their bets by also guessing the Oceanic Bridge between Rumson and Locust or even the Cooper Bridge, on Route 35, between Red Bank and Middletown. Two people mistook it for Hubbards Bridge, linking Red Bank and River Plaza via West Front Street.
