Need to know: Pioneering photographer Giorgio Sommer (1834-1914), a German by birth, amassed an invaluable portfolio of images in his adopted land of Italy.

Atlantic Highlands gallery owner Gary Steven Groves brings his collection of more than 100 of Sommer’s albumen (yes, the stuff from egg whites, which was used to bind photographic chemicals to paper) prints across the Navesink, giving Liz & Bob McKay one of their most overtly historical shows yet.
