Today’s Asbury Park Press has the obituary for Vincent DiMicelli, 56, who was killed in the Wednesday night crash involving three cars on Newman Springs Road, on the Red Bank-Tinton Falls border.

Vincent Thomas DiMicelli, of Little Silver, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.

He was born in New York City and was the son of Leonard and Penelope DiMicelli, moving to Red Bank during his childhood, and then residing in Little Silver for more than 25 years.

He graduated from Red Bank High School, where he was a member of the All-Shore Band, on oboe and sax, played varsity football, and was on the chess team.

He attended Carnegie Mellon University, and then went on to earn a BA in History and MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Rutgers University.

Among his professional achievements was the establishment of several successful businesses, including Plus Property Management in Little Silver.

His commitment to others and to his community was visible in both his involvement as a Little League baseball and basketball coach in Little Silver for eight years, and by his participation in the Boy Scouts. He had a great passion for reading and a love of camping.

His perpetual good nature and sense of humor endeared him to all.

Vincent was predeceased by his father, Leonard DiMicelli Sr. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deborah Ledig DiMicelli; his sons, Bryan of Toms River, and David of Little Silver; his mother, Penelope DiMicelli; his brothers, Leonard DiMicelli Jr. and Thomas DiMicelli of New York,, and Daniel DiMicelli of Middletown; his sisters, Donna Iverson of Tinton Falls, and Jeanne Gordon of Marlboro; and numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at St. Mary’s Church, Colts Neck.
