FAIR HAVEN: GOP STILL HOLDS SWAY
Incumbent Republicans Jerome Koch and James Banahan held off a challenge from a single Democratic candidate in the race for two seats on the Fair Haven Borough Council Tuesday.
Of 4,881 votes cast, Banhan attracted 1,706, or 34.95 percent of the total. Koch won 1,604 ballots, or 32.86 percent.
Democrat Matthew Cohen pulled in 1,553 votes, or 31.82 percent, according to the Monmouth County Clerk‘s office.
