BROAD STREET REOPENS AFTER CAR FLIPS

A car struck a parked landscaper’s trailer and flipped onto its roof on Broad Street Tuesday afternoon, leading police to shut down the street for about 45 minutes.

The driver, 24-year-old Corey Bliss of Red Bank, was taken to Riverview Medical Center with minor abrasions, according to a police department official. There were no passengers in her car and no other individuals were involved.

Police said Bliss was heading north on Broad at about 1:06p in the rain when she struck the trailer, parked on the east side of Broad near Wavery Place, tipping her 1999 Mercury onto its roof.

The accident left an oil slick on the roadway and broke the axle of the trailer.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
