EKDAHL: CINDY McCAIN ONLY IN RUMSON

Contrary to a report in Sunday’s Record of Hackensack, GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain will not be dining at a private residence in Rumson tomorrow night.

According to Mayor John Ekdahl, the Arizona senator’s wife, Cindy McCain, is expected to attend a breakfast at the River Road estate of party bigwig Lewis Eisenberg, as redbankgreen reported last week, citing PolitickerNJ.com as the source.

In response to an inquiry about the Record item, Ekdahl says, via email:

Looks like the breakfast is on for Cindy tmrw but don’t expect a visit from John McCain. Traffic will be normal.

The candidate himself is scheduled to be at a town hall meeting in York, Pa. Tuesday at 9a, according to his online calendar.

Cindy will no doubt want to pass a big hat. Today’s Star-Ledger reports that Sen. Barrack Obama has raised more than twice as much as McCain in New Jersey, $5.9 million to $2.5 million.
