HOLD THE ICE
Valerie Craig of Middletown sent redbankgreen this photo she took yesterday afternoon from the Molly Pitcher Inn. The view is northeast along the Navesink River, of course.
It reminded us that exactly a year ago, this part of the world was at the beginning of what turned out to be a prolonged freeze that created the best river ice this town had seen in four years.
Which serves as passable segue into one of our occasional weather reports…
Today, temperatures will top out at about 46 degrees under partly sunny skies, according to our friends at the National Weather Service.
Tomorrow: a tad warmer, but cloudy, and with a chance of showers.
And Sunday: a little more like real winter, with a chance of snow showers mixing with rain in the afternoon before temps drop to around 22 overnight.
Many thanks to Val for the photo. More of her shots are on display at her Flickr page (registration required).
